Giesenbräu Bier Co. is a German beer brewery in New Prague, Minnesota that has been crafting award-winning lagers and ales since 2017. Our flagship Hildy's Helles took 1st Place at the 2023 MN Brewers Cup and 2nd Place in 2021, proving that a well-made Munich Lager has nowhere to hide its flaws and nothing to hide at all. We pour up to 15 taps of flagships and rotating styles, from the crisp Radler and the aromatic Giesen Weisse to the bold Frickin Scruggly DIPA. Non-alcoholic options are always available, because a great biergarten experience should be open to everyone.
Our Story
From a Bavarian Biergarten to New Prague, Minnesota
T he idea for Giesenbräu was born in Germany, over a shared Maß and a shared frustration: authentic German-style biergartens were nearly impossible to find back in the United States. Rather than keep lamenting that gap, our founders decided to fill it.
They brought the spirit of Bavarian brewing to New Prague, MN, combining Old World technique with a Midwestern sense of community. The result is a craft brewery that brews bier with precision and serves it with a smile. We are serious about the liquid in your glass and lighthearted about everything else.
